1st Day of School 2013

The girls started school today!!  Hannah-4th grade and Haydn-2nd grade.  Both were excited to get to school and start the new school year. Can't wait to hear about it this afternoon!!

this was the 1st year that I didn't shed tears as the girls went off to school!! I guess I am growing up too!! 

Last Day of Summer

We have had a fun/busy summer. I saw this idea of making a summer list from another blog and I am glad we made it for a few things I would have already forgotten that we had done!! 

The playhouse is being built as I type this....so in the next couple weeks the girls will have that to enjoy as well!! 

Looks like we didn't make it to an old fashioned ice cream shop and Reiman Gardens. 

The girls start tomorrow, 2nd and 4th grade!!  We are ready!! 

Hannah's 10th Birthday

Hannah had a fun couple days of celebrating her Birthday. We had family over Sunday night to help her celebrate turning 10.  She mentioned she wanted to start scrapbooking, she got a good start to this hobby for her b-day! She has been busy taking pictures over the past 2 days.

Happy 10th Birthday, Hannah!

Hannah turns 10 today!!  Double digits!!  We went to the fair with Nana today! Was a fun day, we ended the night the four of us eating wings, her favorite meal!!

Hannah is such a joy to raise, hard to believe she will be gone from the house in 8 years!!  

Vacation to St Louis

We headed out to St Louis on Sunday morning (8-4).  We got down there mid afternoon and just relaxed and swam Sunday night. Monday morning we hit the Arch.  It was cool to see the view from atop the Arch.  Wes was a little nervous! We walked to Hard Rock Café for lunch. It was a long walk from the Arch, Haydn complained alittle!  Eating in St Louis is expensive and we never ordered anything crazy!  Hard Rock was right next to Union Station. Walked around in the mall and watched the crew make fudge and had some samples.  Wes went to a Cardinals game Monday night. Probably stayed for 5 innings or so. The girls didn't want to go so we swam.  They swam once or twice a day!

 

Tuesday- We toured the Budweiser Brewery.  WOW...the grounds are kept up really nice. It was a interesting tour.  This is the only time we didn't walk somewhere. We took a cab to the brewery, it was 3.2 miles away, knew the girls would complain and I think it was even further. 

 

Wednesday- we hit the City Museum.  It is 600,000 square-foot former International Shoe Company.  There were so many tunnels, slides etc for the girls to climb on/in.  We were there 4 plus hrs and could of been there even longer!! 

 

 

Thursday- we headed back home. We really had a great time in St Louis!

 

 

 



Hannah's 10th Birthday Party

Hannah celebrated her Birthday yesterday with friends. She chose to ride horses again this year.  She and 2 of her friends went out on an hour trail ride.  Wes went along with them for they had to have an adult come along and I stayed back with Haydn.  You have to be 8 in order to ride the trail. She rode a pony around in the arena.

 

Haydn was able to brush her horse, Harley.  As you can tell she didn't want to get too close. Donna let Harley around and Haydn was pretty shy. Donna was wonderful with Haydn and tried to get her to relax.  Haydn said she had fun though!!

Hannah, Justice and Emma went on the trail ride and said it was a lot of fun as well.  I am bummed but I wasn't able to get pictures of them on their horses, so this is the best I could do.
