Easter 2015 and Haydn's early birthday

We went to Mt Ayr Saturday/Sunday. We celebrated Easter and Haydn opened her gift from Davidson's and Nana and Papa. We didn't get any pictures before Church or after (bummer). Mom had a delicious meal and we brought home leftovers for supper tonight! Haydn turns 10 in a couple weeks. We usually celebrate her birthday and Easter together!

Egg Dying

Girls dyed Easter eggs this morning. I think it is a tradition they may never tire from.

Spring Break 2016

The girls, mom and I went on our 1st spring break vacay!!  It was a last minute decision, I actually told the girls on Sunday the 6th. Girls and I went to Mt Ayr Friday, 11th. We left at 4:00 AM on Saturday, 12th for Waco, TX. Can't remember now what time we arrived in Waco, it was to take 12 hrs but I know it took us alittle longer with lunch and gas stops. We checked into our hotel and headed out to walk around Baylor Univ. to stretch our legs. Baylor has a beautiful campus. We grabbed a bite to eat and headed back to hotel.

Sunday morning we went to Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. Walked on a suspension bridge, ate at In-Out Burger and went to a children's museum. We drove south of Waco to a HUGE gas station called Buc-ee's. It has 112 gas pumps!  It was quite the gas station.

Monday we went to Magnolia Market (Fixer Upper TV show). It was so fun to walk around the store, eat at our 1st food truck. We also went to Harp Design (Clint  Harp's) store. He makes the wooden tables for Fixer Upper shows. Waco as a town is VERY run down. Sad. I understand now why all the houses are so cheap to buy on the show. We left Waco and on our way to Ft Worth we stopped at an outlet store to shop, it was to be a huge outlet mall but maybe only had 20 stores that we actually open. Very disappointing but we still had fun walking around what stores were open. We stayed in Ft Worth Monday night.

Tuesday we went to Stockyard Station. We could of spent a whole day here but was only there for a few hours. We watched the "Longhorn Parade" pretty cool to see longhorns up close. We went to the Bureau of Engraving in Ft Worth. We took a self-guided tour on how currency is made. We left Ft Worth and headed to Oklahoma City for the night. Once we got to Oklahoma City we headed downtown for supper and found a cute riverwalk (Bricktown), fun shops and restaurants.  We drove by the memorial at night because they have the chairs lit up at night. Large chairs for adults and smaller ones for children that died.

Wednesday we toured the National Memorial and Museum (bombing of 1995). They have done a awesome job telling the story of April 19, 1995. They do not leave out any details of the day. Very moving experience. We headed home after that, 6 hr drive home. Got to Mt Ayr around 7:30. Girls and I spent the night, tired of being in a car. Got back home Thursday morning. Thanks to my mom for going with us, (I wouldn't of ventured that far by myself) she was a great tour guide. We packed in a lot of activities in the 4 days we were there!
