WOW.....we started the process of finishing our basement last February. Yes, last year 2013! It has been a long ride but we FINALLY saw the light at the end of the tunnel today!! Carpet was laid!! Early last February Wes put studs up (side note, February thru June is Wes's busy season with him working long hrs and Saturdays). Middle of the month he realized he didn't have time and when he was home, he didn't want to spend time working on the basement. We hired a crew to drywall for us. We did 1 of 2 rooms at this time. I believe in July we did the 2nd room ( I don't have pics of this time frame). Part was saving money again and the crew. We would not recommend them to anyone. They did their job but it was SSSSLLLLOOOOWWW getting them here. Drywall was up by the time school started. Wes and I primed the walls and painted them a light grey. Wes went back and forth, back and forth with what color, style of trim he wanted (September-November is football season for Wes so that is why the lull there). January we ended up having someone install the trim for us!! YAY!! We then went and picked out carpet and it was laid TODAY!! We purchased a sectional in November and it has been in our 3rd stall since! Can't wait to bring it in and sit on it!! Part of the basement is going to be Wes's "man cave" and then the other room will be a spare bedroom/whatever.
OK, this loaded out of order, but we will go with it.....
finished "man cave"
man cave with studs
spare bedroom
man cave drywalled, painted and trim!
stairs done
It looks great! Wes will be happy to get all of his Iowa stuff back out! I love how you did the stairs and handrail. I'm excited to see your new sectional! Have fun getting your new space all arranged!
