Back in December at the girls and I regular 6 month appt. our dentist said that Hannah could use braces. So while on Christmas break we went to our 1st orthodontist appt. Last week she got spacers on which were temporarily (they were taken off today, when top braces were put on) this made room for the metal brackets. Today she got top braces. It took right at an hour. She is awesome. I took ibuprofen today in case she needed it but she said that she was not in pain. I took her back to school and she did well. Last week when the spacers were put on, she said they were painful. The spacers are very thin, a little thicker than floss but Hannah said it hurt when they put them in between her teeth, we had to come back home get some meds and then trek back to school. Of course today I was prepared and she didn't need it! So in 18-24 months she will have a beautiful smile. In her situation it wasn't that her teeth are so much crooked as her jaw is narrow. This is a new adventure in our family, for Wes nor I had braces! Let the fun begin!
